Free printable yoga cards and action cards for kids

Strong shoulders, a steady core and good balance make it easier to sit and write, which is why gross motor skills sit beside fine motor skills in the EYFS. The Yoga Pose Cards show 24 yoga poses for kids with breathing exercises and yoga stories. The Action Cards cover hop, jump, balance, crawl and stretch, with wall posters and an action dice. Movement Dice & Obstacle-Course Cards add six fold-up dice and 24 station cards for building a course from cushions and chairs.

Use them as brain breaks between table activities, for wet playtimes, or as a morning warm-up.

Questions about move & stretch

Is yoga suitable for young children?

Yes, when it is playful and brief. Animal-named poses, held for a few breaths, build strength, balance and body awareness and help children calm down.

How long should a brain break be?

Two to five minutes is enough. Pick two or three cards, do them together, then return to the task.
