A is for apple, B is for ball: cards and posters to print, cut and display.
Big A meets little a. Match them, cut them, stick them.
Start at the dot, follow the line, write the letter.
Nothing matched. Try a shorter word or clear the filters.
These alphabet worksheets take children from recognising a letter to writing it. Start with Letter of the Week and the alphabet flashcards and posters, then find and match letters with letter hunts, dot marker letters and upper and lower case matching.
For handwriting, the letter formation worksheets show exactly where each stroke starts. Letter Tracing A–Z has numbered start dots and arrows on every letter, Letter Families groups letters by their first movement (curly caterpillar, long ladder, one-armed robot, zigzag monster), and Letter Formation with Rhymes gives each letter a rhyme to say while writing. First Words Tracing moves on to whole words.
Many UK schools teach letter sounds in the phonics order s, a, t, p, i, n rather than a to z. For letter formation, teaching by letter family (starting with the curly caterpillar letters c, a, d, g, o) is easier than alphabetical order.
Letter families group letters by how they start: curly caterpillar letters begin with a c shape, long ladder letters begin with a line down, one-armed robot letters go down and back up, and zigzag monster letters use slanted lines.
They use a simple print style with start dots and arrows. If your school teaches lead-ins or cursive, keep the start points and directions and add the flicks your school uses.
